Mobile Phone in Denmark

Post  Admin on Sun Aug 29, 2010 10:34 pm

Getting a good overview of the mobile phone possibilities in Denmark is not so easy. Even for people that have lived in Denmark for several year, this is not particular transparent and quite difficult to say something unambiguous about confused . Anyway, hereby a few words about the topic...

In general you can choose between 2 principles:

  • You already have a phone, and ‘just’ need a sim-card. The sim-cards are different; some you will have to refill, others are one fixed amount per month, others again will bill you depending on usage

  • You want a phone and a sim-card. If you choose this solution the phone as such might be cheaper compared to buying a ‘no strings attached’ phone, but you will typically be locked to change provider for the coming 6 months.

Depending on how you use your mobile phone, your user profile, a different provider/solution will be best for you. Hereby some pages (in Danish) that can help you picking the best solution for you depending on your user profile:

http://www.abonnementguide.dk/ (easy to use)
http://telepristjek.dk/ (more details to fill out, but will probably be more correct)

The pages above can also be used as a guide to quantify how much money you potentially can save by changing provider if you already have a danish cell phone Very Happy
